Lisa used to sing and do
impressions of Louis Armstrong, JFK, Barbara Streisand
and Jimmy Durante in shows the neighborhood kids put on.
Lisa and her mother would sing all the time. She
learned at a young age that her singing could make her mother
smile. That was Lisa's reward. "When I look out in
the audience and see a smile or that look of relating to
something in the song....that's the best", Lisa
says.
In 1997, Lisa was
brought to a recording studio as a surprise for her
birthday. The gift was from Ron her husband and
she was to record any song she wanted.
"This would have to
be 'Imagine'", says Lisa. "If I were to
leave this earth tomorrow, 'Imagine' would be my
farewell." This says it all. Lisa wanted
her version to be soulful, to reflect her interpretation
of his song. She told Ron he had to play guitar or
it wasn't going to happen.
A few days later, Ron
came up with his guitar version and asked Jerry Stucker
to produce it. Ron pulled some strings and called
upon his close friends to help with the recording.
"Everyone gave their
time freely", says Lisa. "This was all about friendship
and love."
Lisa Madison and her
Band make you feel like family. She's loves
what she's doing and everyone who listens to her can
relate.
